Where your files are

Your files are on an M.2 SSD. It is removable, but SSD failures are often controller or firmware faults that need specialist tools to read the flash memory.

This series comes in 11.6, 13.3 and 14-inch versions; the size is part of the model number. The 11-inch education models use soldered eMMC storage on most versions. Business laptops are often encrypted by the company’s IT team. If yours was a work laptop, ask your IT department for the BitLocker recovery key.

Questions about the HP ProBook x360

Which HP ProBook x360 models do you recover?

All of them, including the ProBook x360 11 G1 EE, ProBook x360 11 G2 EE, ProBook x360 11 G3 EE, ProBook x360 11 G4 EE, ProBook x360 11 G5 EE, ProBook x360 11 G6 EE, ProBook x360 11 G7 EE, ProBook x360 435 G7, ProBook x360 435 G8, ProBook x360 435 G9, ProBook x360 435 G10, ProBook x360 440 G1. If your exact model isn’t listed, we still recover it.

Can you recover data from an HP ProBook x360 that won’t turn on?

Usually, yes. These laptops have an M.2 SSD, which we can take out and recover even if the laptop itself is dead.

Is my data encrypted?

Possibly. Many Windows 10 and 11 laptops switch on device encryption or BitLocker automatically. The recovery key is saved in your Microsoft account at aka.ms/myrecoverykey. With the key, encryption doesn’t stop the recovery.

How long does it take?

Most logical recoveries take two to four working days. Drives that need cleanroom work or board repair take longer, and we can prioritise urgent jobs.

The first consultation is free and you get a fixed price before any work: see data recovery prices (with a price calculator) and how it works. No data, no recovery fee.
