HP ProBook Fortis data recovery
We recover files from all 3 HP ProBook Fortis models (sold 2022–2025), including the ProBook Fortis 14 G9, ProBook Fortis 14 G10 and ProBook Fortis 14 G11, at our London SE1 lab. Where your files are
The HP ProBook Fortis has its storage (eMMC flash) soldered to the motherboard. There is no drive to take out, so if the laptop won’t start we repair the board itself to bring the data back.
This series comes in 14-inch versions; the size is part of the model number. Rugged education laptops; most versions have storage soldered to the board. Business laptops are often encrypted by the company’s IT team. If yours was a work laptop, ask your IT department for the BitLocker recovery key.

What’s wrong with it?

Is my data encrypted?
Possibly. Many Windows 10 and 11 laptops switch on device encryption or BitLocker automatically. The recovery key is saved in your Microsoft account at aka.ms/myrecoverykey. With the key, encryption doesn’t stop the recovery.
