HP ProBook Fortis 14 G11 data recovery
We recover files from the HP ProBook Fortis 14 G11, from a range HP sold 2022–2025, at our London SE1 lab. It has storage soldered to the motherboard. Common causes of data loss are a failed drive, liquid, drops and accidental deletion.
Where your files are
The HP ProBook Fortis 14 G11 has its storage (eMMC flash) soldered to the motherboard. There is no drive to take out, so if the laptop won’t start we repair the board itself to bring the data back.
Rugged education laptops; most versions have storage soldered to the board. Business laptops are often encrypted by the company’s IT team. If yours was a work laptop, ask your IT department for the BitLocker recovery key.

What’s wrong with it?
| What it is doing | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| Won’t turn on or charge | A motherboard fault. Repairing the board brings the data back. |
| Liquid damage | Switch off and leave it off. Board cleaning and repair is the route to the data. |
| Stuck on the logo or recovery screen | The storage or system is damaged. Don’t reset or powerwash it. |
| Cracked screen, still working | Copy your files off now with an external screen, or we can do it. |
Switch it off. Don’t keep restarting a laptop that clicks, freezes or won’t start, and don’t reset Windows. Both can overwrite or destroy the files you want back.

Questions about the HP ProBook Fortis 14 G11
Can you recover data from a HP ProBook Fortis 14 G11 that won’t turn on?
Yes, in most cases, by repairing the motherboard, because the storage is soldered to it. We diagnose the board first and tell you the price before any work starts.
Is my data encrypted?
Possibly. Many Windows 10 and 11 laptops switch on device encryption or BitLocker automatically. The recovery key is saved in your Microsoft account at aka.ms/myrecoverykey. With the key, encryption doesn’t stop the recovery.
How long does it take?
Most logical recoveries take two to four working days. Drives that need cleanroom work or board repair take longer, and we can prioritise urgent jobs.
